I am a senior year student majoring in electrical engineering and will be graduating at the end of this term. I am also doing a minor in finance. My 2nd coop was in power industry where I worked at Monitoring Analytics, an electricity data consulting firm, as a market data analyst. I used to perform analysis on power market data of PJM’s wholesale energy markets. I took this class because I want to learn more about the applications of solar technology and doing the design project would definitely add to my learning experience. In this project, I am researching into various input/output and load devices (AC & DC) like voltmeters, ammeters, toy motors, etc. and also the overall placement of all these devices. I am really looking forward to learn a lot from this course.

David Andrews (da354@drexel.edu)
I am a senior student majoring in Electrical Engineering at Drexel University. I have had three Co-Op experiences at PECO Energy Company and I will be working for Atlantic City Electric in Mays Landing, NJ after I graduate. I have taken several classes that focused on renewable energy or solar cells but none of them were purely dedicated to the design aspect of photo voltaic (PV) systems. I believe that renewable energy, in particular solar, will be a big player in the solution that will aim to solve the world's energy crisis, and I want to be involved in promoting, designing, and implementing that solution.

I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in the discipline of power engineering. I’ve always had an interest in the renewable energy sector since my high school days, especially in solar energy. Therefore, by taking this course, I get the opportunity to broaden and at the same time put together the knowledge that I have already acquired. In this project, I will be looking into selecting an appropriate cart that will be used to move the PV system as well as to the method of mounting the PV panels to the cart.

Ishita Singh (is76@drexel.edu)
I am a senior majoring in Computer Engineering at Drexel University. I've had two insightful co-op opportunities as a technology intern in Susquehanna International Group and Deloitte Tax LLP. I have had the invaluable opportunity to work closely on projects and assignments that have considerably enhanced my understanding of modern IT and business systems. I believe solar power will be a major contributor to the world's electricity supply in the near future. By taking this class I would like to enhance my knowledge and understanding of the renewable energy sector  and assist my team in designing a cost effective solar energy system for middle school students.

Sarab Singh (ss83@drexel.edu)
I am senior at Drexel University, majoring in Electrical Engineer. I have completed two coops, one at PHL and another one at Vineland Electric. I have great interest in power system and renewal energy. During my coops, I had performed distribution load analysis, feeder switching, and design construction prints. My senior design involves building a energy storage system for 1.6KW solar generation unit using lithium-ion battery. I took this class so that it help me in my senior design and also get to learn how PV system is integrated in the distribution grid. I think due to limited resource and global  warming, most of power industry shifted their force toward renewal and  reliable sources such as solar, and offshore wind turbine system. I am working on Light source, component connection, and final design.
